Ingredients:
- ½ cup peeled hemp seeds
- 3 cups (filtered) water
- a pinch Himalayan salt*
- 1 teaspoon of organic honey
Directions:
- soak the hemp seeds in plenty of water by letting it sit for at least 3 to 4 hours in the refrigerator
- pour the seeds in a sieve and put them, along with 3 cups of pure water, in a blender
- add a small pinch Himalayan Salt (this enhances the flavor and enriches the drink with healthy minerals)
- if you want your hemp milk with a slightly sweet taste, then add a teaspoon of organic honey to the mixture
- mix everything in your blender for at least 2 minutes until all the hemp seeds are crushed and you get a nice, creamy drink
- you can use this hemp as a drink, but also on your cereal, in your smoothies, shakes or soups
- store your hemp milk in your refrigerator (max. 24 hours) and shake well before use!
Healthy food alternatives:
- use some raisins or dates instead of organic honey
- enrich your hemp milk with other seeds such as sunflower and pumpkin seeds (these seeds need to be soaked also for few hours before using them)
- add extra flavor by adding raw cocoa powder, maca or lucuma powder
* Instead of Himalayan Salt you can use unrefined sea salt. Never use “ordinary kitchen salt” or other types of refined salt!
