Negative Effects of Sparkling Water on Interstitial Cystitis

I have the impression that drinking sparkling water (instead of still water) makes my interstitial cystitis worse. Is that possible?

Sparkling water contains carbonic acid. This makes your body more acid. The higher the acidity of your body, the higher the inflammatory response, and the more pain you will have.

Next to that, sparkling water can cause bloating. A bloated belly creates more pressure on the bladder, which can cause more or more intense pain.
